TRADE 1 FOR SOME 1

I have started this group because I feel compelled to raise awareness of Conscious Shopping.

We so often go into do our weekly shops in a somewhat hypnotic state without considering what we are buying or our choices. We are so more focussed on getting a bargain it seems we have forgotten about the human face behind our shopping.

There are so many different ways to support our local farmers, artists and producers and it all gets so confusing. Not to mention that in many cases it is far too expensive to shop ethically at all times. This is the truth for many of us.

So I propose ‘TRADE 1 FOR SOME 1’. It’s simple!

All you do is trade 1 item of your weekly shopping or something you regularly purchase for either a fair trade item or in support of your local producers.

Some ways you could do this could be:

1. Trade your weekly coffee or tea for a fair trade brand
2. Buy your bread from your local independent baker
3. Buy your meat for 1 dinner from your local butcher
4. Buy a gift for someone from a local artist
5. Buy your fruit and vegetables from your local grocer

These are just some examples. Trade just 1 thing! Simple.

Don’t do it out of a sense of guilt or charity... Do it because you care for 1 person behind your shopping and are willing to TRADE 1 FOR SOME 1.
